Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Stroke patients require continuous and appropriate time to start rehabilitation care. Failure to do so results in limitation of activities of daily living and becoming bedridden patients.
Objective: This research design aims to investigate the development of a rehabilitation care network system for intermediate stroke patients in Bangramong Hospital, Chonburi Province.
Methodology: A one-group pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design was used. Purposive sampling was used to collect a sample of 58 patients. Four different questionnaires were used to collect data on activities of daily living, Quality of life, Anxiety and Depression, and satisfaction. All questionnaires showed an item-objective congruence (IOC) of between 0.67 to 1.00 and a Cronbach alpha coefficient reliability of 0.91. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests.
Results: The results showed that the development of the rehabilitation care network system for intermediate stroke patients in the area of Bangramong Hospital was statistically significant in regards to activities of daily living, quality of life, anxiety, and depression, and statistically significant during 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 months, at .05, .01 and .001, respectively. Also, satisfaction was high, with a statistically significant of 0.001.
Conclusion: The network system for intermediate stroke patients in an area between t hospitals of two different sizes can improve hospital crowding in outpatient and in-patient departments. In addition, both hospitals also share resources.
