Teenage pregnancy: Concept of solving problems with the district health system

Abstract
Teenage pregnancy is a top priority issue in Thailand, which affects Thai society in a broad range even though the current trend has slowed down. Teenage pregnancy is the effect of many problems such as: family issues, educational, socioeconomic and issues from teenagers themselves. Teenage pregnancy can affect teenagers in different dimensions of health including physical, social, mental and spiritual. To care for pregnant teenagers requires strategies and solutions directed at individual, family and community levels. These solutions and strategies must cover all dimensions of health in order to maintain, promote, prevent and restore health form multidisciplinary care teams. This is consistent with the current health system that emphasizes the main concepts of health in the era, that focus on patient-centered work, community-based approaches, and collaborative work as a network by using the District Health System. It is operated with a seamless service network by unity health service network management committee in each district process to correct teenage pregnancy problems and prevent them from reoccurring in the future.
