The relationship between strategic implementation and nursing organization performance at tertiary level hospital under the Ministry of Public Health
Main Article Content
Abstract
This descriptive study was conducted to examine the relationship between strategic implementation and nursing organizational performance of tertiary level hospitals under the Ministry of Public Health. A systemic sampling technique was used to recruit 252 nursing administrators in the study. The research instruments include a questionnaire about strategic implementation with reliability of 0.94 and a questionnaire about organizational performance with reliability of 0.89. Descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were performed. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was calculated to examine the relationship.
The research findings revealed the mean scores of both strategic implementation and nursing organizational performance were at a high level ( = 3.96, SD = 0.40;
= 3.59, SD = 0.39 respectively). There was a statistically significant positive relationship between strategic implementation and nursing organizational performance (r=.61, p<.01). The study findings suggest that the nursing administrators should be prepared for their competency in implementing strategic plan. Other competencies such as personnel investment management skills, reaction to competitor actions, goal achievement performance focusing, and nursing service differentiation should be enhanced in order to increase the effectiveness of nursing organization performance.
