Abstract

In this changing world, health education has changed from hospital to community focus.  Nursing education has to be designed in order to fit the community learning. Instructing the students to remember or to practice cannot make them learn effectively, but assisting them to learn from self reflective thinking can. The reflection begins with asking the students of their experiences. The instructor can use student experience, classroom experiences, or narrative experiences from other people and conclude this activity by asking the students of what knowledge they have learned from all of these concepts. The reflection make the experiences to be valuable. In community nursing practicum, self and weekly reflection help nursing students have good attitude toward community practice, community engagement, recognize community based practice, teamwork, self-esteem and overcoming their challenges, therefore becoming helpful, creative, and happy to work in the community in the future.
