Factors Associated with Caring of Oral’s health among students in The Healthy Teeth, Happy Life Network, Thunyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province.

Abstract

This descriptive research aimed to study factors associated with oral hygiene care behavior among school-age children in The Healthy Teeth, Happy Life Network, Thunyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. The sample were 306 students of school children in The Healthy Teeth, Happy Life Network, Thunyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. Data were collected by questionnaires applied from PRECEDE framework, about predisposing factors, including knowledge, attitudes, enabling factors, reinforcing factors, and oral health care behavior. The IOC values ​​was greater than 0.67 for all items. The Cronbach's coefficient alpha was 0.808. and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson Chi-Square and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results showed that         

              1 The predisposing factors, including knowledge with a mean score in the medium level (37.26%), and attitude with a mean score in the high level, while enabling factors and reinforcing factors had mean scores in the medium level. Additionally, oral hygiene care behavior had a mean score in the high level.

1. The knowledge, attitude, enabling factors and reinforcing factors were positively associated with oral hygiene care behavior among school-age children in a low level with statistical significance of 0.05

Therefore, relevant agencies should develop program formats with an emphasis on providing knowledge and building attitudes, creating enabling factors regarding access to toothbrushing equipment and a place of brush. Reinforcing factors include support from families, schools, and public health personnel to promote oral hygiene care behavior and use them as guidelines for future research.
