The Role of Nurses in Promoting Health Literacy to Prevent Harm from PM2.5 in Patients with Allergic Rhinitis

This academic article aims to describes the dangers of particulate matter 2.5 microns or less (PM2.5), an air pollutant that impacts public health. Especially people at risk who have allergic rhinitis, a chronic respiratory disease with an increasing prevalence in Thailand. PM2.5 impacts patients' quality of life, exacerbates their symptoms and increases the cost of care. Health literacy is important in determining people's motivation and abilities. Promote health care good, as well as the ability to effectively prevent and control disease. Nurses are professionals who provide health services closely to the public at both the individual and societal levels. Therefore, they play a crucial role in promoting and developing health literacy for patients with allergic rhinitis. They play roles as health educators, innovators, researchers, and facilitators, enabling patients to change their behavior and protect themselves from the dangers of PM2.5.
