Abstract

The objective of the article focused on an intensive educational program for therapeutic volume overload in end stage renal disease patients on receiving hemodialysis. Many intensive education training programs take took a shorter time and require rapid success. The variety of education training program period, were successful, such as modeling, such as intensive knowledge for fluid restriction, demonstration and skill training , using methods to stimulate the development of fluid restriction skills, keeping track of drinking water and daily record of food consumptions, following up the weight gain pre- hemodialysis each time and advising individually. Evaluation and the knowledge plan were clearly defined.

An Intensive educational program for therapeutic volume overload in end stage renal disease patients on receiving hemodialysis mainly achieved the objectives and goals which were to decrease volume overload rapidly in patients so that they have better health and can be self-managed when in emergency from volume overload. The roles of hemodialysis nurses are: First, intensive knowledge for prevention of fluid restriction. Second, support for lifestyle change, Third, support knowledge for self- management correctly when severe volume overload symptom are present.
