The Effect of Board Game Review “Cardiscape” on Knowledge and Satisfaction of Review Style in the Title of Cardiovascular System of Sophomore Air Force Student Nurse Academic Year 2021

Abstract

Purpose: To compare the knowledge and satisfaction of review style in the title of the cardiovascular system of sophomore Air Force Student Nurse Academic year 2021 between experimental and control groups.


Design: Quasi-experimental research, the pretest-posttest design with a comparison group.


Method: Fifty- two sophomore Air Force Student Nurses Academic year 2021 were selected by purposive sampling. They were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups, divided into 26 subjects in each group. The experimental group took part in the board game review "Cardiscape" whereas the control group took part in a traditional review. The research instruments were two parts 1) The experimental instrument is a board game review, "Cardiscape" and 2) The data collection instruments consisted of a test and satisfaction assessment form of the cardiovascular system. Content validity was 1.00 and 0.92, respectively. In addition, reliability was 0.71 (KR-20) and 0.99 (Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient), respectively. Data were analyzed by using descriptive t-test statistics.


Finding: 1) After applying the experiment, the mean scores of knowledge were significantly higher than before (p<0.05), and 2) The mean scores of knowledge and satisfaction of the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05).


Conclusion: Board-Game Learning is one of the learning styles for increasing students' knowledge, and satisfaction leads to efficient education management for students' happiness and knowledge.
