Abstract

The purposes of this quasi-experimental study were to examine the level of satisfaction of “Check Your Breast” model for the Air Force student Nurses and to compare breast self-examination skill before and after using the “Check Your Breast” model. Samples were 54, 3rd year Air Force student Nurses took course Adult Nursing 3. The research instruments used to collect data were: “Check Your Breast” model, satisfaction questionnaire and breast self-examination assessment form. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage and compared breast self-examination skill with paired t-test. The findings of this study were as follows: 1) the satisfaction level of “Check Your Breast” model were high in teaching media use (gif.latex?\bar{X}=4.90), design (gif.latex?\bar{X}=4.81), and 3) easy use and storage (gif.latex?\bar{X}= 4.73). 2) The scores of breast self-examination skill after using the “Check Your Breast” model of air force student nurses were significantly higher than those before using it at .05 levels (t=16.224, p<.05). As a result, the “Check Your Breast” model could be used as a supporting media to make the student easily understood to practice on breast self-examination skill.
