The Development of Guideline of Writing Professional Research Proposal from External Funding Sources Using Knowledge Management

Abstract

This research and development aimed to develop and evaluate the effects of guideline of writing professional research proposal from external funding sources using knowledge management. There were seven phases of research including: 1) analyzing situation of writing research proposal from external funding sources; 2) developing guideline of writing professional research proposal from external funding sources; 3) testing feasibility of guideline of writing professional research proposal; 4) revising guideline of writing professional research proposal; 5) evaluating the effects of guideline of writing professional research proposal with 34 instructors from inside and outside Faculty of Nursing, Praboromarajchanok Institute; 6) re-adjusting guideline of writing professional research proposal; and 7) evaluating quality of guideline of writing professional research proposal by experts. The research instruments consisted of a guideline of writing professional research proposal from external funding sources, a demographic questionnaire, and an optimum, feasibility, and benefit of guideline of writing professional research proposal assessment form with reliability of .98. The implementation and data collection were conducted from October, 2022 to February, 2023. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and one-sample t-test.

The research results revealed that guideline of writing professional research proposal from external funding sources include four steps: 1) preparation of developing research proposal; 2) preparation of writing research proposal; 3) management of research team and resource in developing research proposal; and 4) preparation of submitting research proposal. 30 items from 31 items of guideline were statistically significantly optimal, feasible, and beneficial.

This research suggests that novice researchers should use this guideline of writing professional research proposal from external funding sources to guide when they write research proposal to achieve external funding.
