The Effect of Using Apply Lean Process with HOSxP Program on Improvement in Depression, Tuberculosis, and Cervical Cancer Screening in Antiretroviral Clinic, Borai Hospital, Trat Province

Abstract

This research and development design study aimed to improve the quality of depression, tuberculosis, and cervical cancer screening that apply lean process with the HOSxP program at antiretroviral (ARV) clinic in Borai Hospital, Trat Province. The study was conducted during July 2014 to April 2015 that consisted of five stages including: 1) analyzing the service of depression, tuberculosis, and cervical cancer screening; 2) analyzing the process of depression, tuberculosis, and cervical cancer screening; 3) developing the HOSxP program to report depression, tuberculosis, and cervical cancer screening; 4) designing the activities flow to minimize the losses and enhance the values, which coverage of depression, tuberculosis, and cervical cancer screening in people infected with HIV; and 5) testing the new developed flow of activities in 210 cases of people infected with HIV. The data were analyzed and reported as percentage.

                The results found that HIV patients were increased of screening as following 1) 100% of depression and tuberculosis, and 88% of cervical cancer screening; 2) 100% repeating screening cases of initiated abnormality of cervical cancer and depression screening, no repeating screening in tuberculosis regarding to no initiated abnormality screening.

Taken together, using the applying lean process with HOSxP program may implicate to develop other tasks that encounter the same issues as ARV clinic.
