Work experience of elderly Village Health Volunteers

Abstract

The aging situation of the world’s population is increasing rapidly. The concept of Productive ageing has been applied in the development of the elderly. Village Health Volunteers are volunteer work that many elderly people come to work. The researcher is therefore interested in studying to understand and describe the Work experience of elderly Village Health Volunteers. The informants were 10 elderly Village Health Volunteers and those involved in the operation 30 people, sampling was done by Purposive sampling. Data were collected by in-depth interviews and the tools are the researcher and in-depth interviews questions. The data were analyzed with content analysis. The results showed that the elderly Village Health Volunteers were continuous Village Health Volunteers from the beginning. They have good performance and people accept. But they have problems using technology to communications and driving for long distances. At the same time, they were helped by the people involved, including the officials, other Village Health Volunteers, Families and communities. There were also different opinions about the performance of elderly Village Health Volunteers. In this regard, nurses and staff working in sub-district health promoting hospitals need to supervise and support the work of Village Health Volunteers. Especially to create understanding and attitude towards the elderly.
