The medicinal recipes, tastes, and therapeutic uses were recorded using the computer software in a tabular form, then consider the properties of the drug and process the frequency according to 9 tastes. The results showed that all 12 formulations consisted of a total of 111 herbal drugs. The formula with the most components is 51 medicinal drugs for the patients with stiff tongue syndrome that had only been less than 3 months. The formula with the less components was only 2 herbal drugs for the patients with fainting, catching in the tongue, hardened chin (It's a hard tongue symptom that doesn't have a tip numbness or weakness of the toes). On average, 1 formula contains 14.7 herbal drugs. The drug used consists of up to 5 formulas, namely Epsom salts, as a laxative, followed by drugs that are included in 4 formulas, namely Black Cumin (Nigella Saliva Linn.), as a the blood nourishment. There are 16 herbal drugs in 3 formulas, 26 herbal drugs in 2 formulas, and 67 herbal drugs in 1 formula and 3 most commonly used medicinal tastes, ranked 1, 2 and 3 as bitter, spicy and astringent, 29.91, 28.13 and 9.38 percent, respectively. The properties of the drug cover the properties of every drug formula. Because one drug has properties covering many aspects, therefore, the analysis of the properties of the drug to be consistent with the properties of the formula will become the drug that corresponds to all the symptoms of the disease. Formula that uses less drugs for paralytic ileus show that the drug properties correspond to the symptom, while the many drugs formulation corresponds to a combination of many symptoms. It can be seen that the arrangement of medicines according to the recipes that the folk healers have recorded is a Tacit Knowledge which deserves to be developed into explicit knowledge for the benefit and cost in the development of evidence-based pharmacopoeia.
Tanavan Sriamonruttanakul Pornsuda Kaewmanee Vadhana Jayathavaj Somporn Jitrattanaporn Suparat Asawapornthanaphat Copyright (c) 2024 Thai Public Health Nurses Association https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2024-04-25 2024-04-25 38 1 12 29 Prevalence and Risk Factors Related to Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders Among Dependent Patients in Nong Suea District, Pathum Thani Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/phn/article/view/266555
Abstract

This research is an observational study. Data comprising demographic characteristics, extra- and intraoral risk factors and oral lesions were collected by interview and oral examination in order to survey the prevalence of oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) and its risk factors among 183 dependent patients in Nong Suea district. The results revealed the prevalence of oral lesions of 28.5%. Among these, there were 16.9% of moderate-to-high risk of malignant transformation lesions which mostly found on soft palate and floor of mouth. Of all, the prevalence of OPMDs was 1.6%. Sunlight exposure was found to be significantly related to moderate-to-high risk of malignant transformation lesions (p-value = 0.008). Descriptive analysis revealed that level of dependent status, denture wearing status and dry mouth condition were dominant risk factors highly relating to the occurrence of OPMDs. Researchers expected that these results might raise the awareness in surveillance and prevention of the occurrence of oral cancer in dependent population.
Pirasut Rodanant Pisit Saengthongsin Chuchai Anunmana Copyright (c) 2024 Thai Public Health Nurses Association https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2024-04-25 2024-04-25 38 1 30 49 Influence of Selective Factors on the Rate of Infection with Coronavirus 2019 of Professional Nurses at Samut Prakan Hospital: A Retrospective Study. https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/phn/article/view/265658
Abstract

The purpose of this retrospective research was to study the influence of the factors of age, body mass index, chronic disease, family members infected with the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), place of work (department), working hours per week, perceived susceptibility to infection with COVID-19, and perceived barriers to COVID-19 prevention on the rate of infection with COVID-19 of professional nurses at Samut Prakan Hospital.

The sample was 250 professional nurses employed at Samut Prakan Hospital, of whom 125 had been infected with COVID-19 and 125 of whom remained uninfected. The research instrument was a questionnaire, developed by the researcher, which consisted of 4 parts, 1) a personal data form, 2) working hours per week record, 3) perceived susceptibility to infection with COVID-19 and 4) perceived barriers to preventing infection with COVID-19. The content validity of the questionnaire was examined by five experts. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients of parts 3 and 4 were 0.72 and 0.72, respectively. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, standard deviation and multiple logistic regression.

The results showed that the factors of place of work and working hours per week could significantly predict the rate of infection with COVID-19 of professional nurses at Samut Prakan Hospital, accounting for 15.3% of variance. Professional nurses who worked in the internal medicine department were 3.73 times more likely to become infected with COVID-19 than those who worked in the surgery department (OR = 3.73; 95% CI = 1.88 – 7.37; p = .001). Professional nurses who worked more than 40 hours per week had a rate of COVID-19 infection that was 3.73 times greater than those whose working hours per week were less than or equal to 40 hours per week (OR = 2.36, 95% CI = 1.21 – 4.59, p < .005).

Keywords: Coronavirus 2019, Professional nurses, working hours per week, perceived susceptibility of infected by Coronavirus 2019, perceived barrier to COVID 2019 prevention.

Nettip Charoensuk Somjai Putapitakpol Akaphol Kaladee Copyright (c) 2024 Thai Public Health Nurses Association https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2024-04-25 2024-04-25 38 1 50 64 Worker’s satisfaction on mobile health check-up service of Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/phn/article/view/268854
Mobile health check-up service is a service for annual health check-ups, risk-based health checks or periodic health checks for working age groups with the purpose to look for worker’s health problem.
