Abstract

Introduction: Contemporary socio-economic and environmental trends have impacted lives and work conditions in hospitals. Therefore, it is essential to develop new models or innovations to promote healthy behaviour change among individuals of working age. Employees enhance their physical and mental readiness, health awareness, and literacy to proficiently manage health risks and dangers.

Objective: To assess the efficacy of a health behaviour modification program for personnel at Khon Kaen Hospital 2 (Wat Sirithammigawas Branch).

Methods: This quasi-experimental study utilised a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample included the 30 people involved in the programme. Data were acquired using surveys and health record information from the hospital's database. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, and mean), and inferential statistics was paired sample t-test to compare pre- and post-intervention outcomes.

Results: The predominant demographic of participants was female (66.66%), with an average age of 41.40 years (SD = 10.10). The investigation into the efficacy of the "3A Lifestyle Modification Program" revealed statistically significant differences. Average scores for health literacy, 3-A health behaviours, and health knowledge were greatly improved post-intervention (P < 0.0001). Considering physical health outcomes, the average values of body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, and visceral fat levels show a substantial reduction (P < 0.05); nonetheless, muscle mass and resting metabolism (RM) demonstrate a significant rise (P < 0.05). The average levels of stress and despair had decreased (P < 0.0001).

Suggestions: The implementation of the 3 A's Lifestyle Health Modification Program should be endorsed, as it is a straightforward structure that aligns with the lifestyle of the organisation's workers and working-age groups. This health programme should be disseminated to health leaders and community members to facilitate their comprehension. Establish a widely accessible and consistently active Facebook community for workout clubs.
