Abstract

Anterior cruciate ligament injuries. Commonly found in populations that play sports. When injured, the knee joint loses stability. Treatment can be done by surgery, repairing the anterior cruciate ligament by arthroscope anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The primary purpose of surgery is to correct abnormal knee movement in patients with an ACL tear and to restore stability within the knee joint. One important factor that affects patients to return to their daily activities and routines is the rehabilitation and exercise of the muscles after surgery. It takes about 4 months, 1 year or 2 years for the new tendons to be strong before the patient can return to normal activity or play sports. Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament repair is a complicated and major surgery that requires thorough patient preparation. Special instruments and equipment are used, as well as a multidisciplinary team of caregivers who work together to care for patients during surgery. Scrub nurses must therefore have knowledge and understanding of various aspects related to surgery, including skills and techniques for instrument delivery, in order to provide nursing care to patients to achieve treatment goals and reduce complications from surgery.
