Abstract

Critical Ethnography study was conducted to study the community care of children aged 0-5 years old from 121 key informants. The data collection was administered by participatory observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussion and document studies. Triangulation was employed to verify the reliability of the data. The data were analyzed by content analysis.  The results discovered perspective care of children aged 0-5 years old. The meanings of the community care for children were given in 5 characteristics, including creating national citizens, collaborating in providing care, the elderly taking care of children, the second parents and care provided for children’s good future, which were differently related to the care givers based on socio-cultural context. There were 5 systems supporting the community care of children aged 0-5 years, including 1) utilization of information system, 2) health care system, 3) welfare system, 4) community economic system and 5) environment management system.
