Abstract

This independent study was conducted to develop the practice guideline for omphalitis prevention inBuntharik Hospital. There were 2 processes in the development as the followings:1. Instrument development: There were 2 sets of the instruments. Set 1 consisted of the practice guidelinefor Omphalitis prevention in newborn. Set 2 was the questions about the opinions of the nurses towards thepractice.2. The development of the practice guideline was used by participatory process to analyze problems, inplanning and in development including benefits gaining together and involving in development evaluation.The results of the development gained the clinical practice guideline to prevent omphalitis which could be100 percent used. The participants of the project were satisfied and agreed that this practice should be usedcontinuously.
