The Effectiveness of Self-management Program on Self-management Behavior and Asthma Controlled level in Asthma Patient at Ranode Hospital, Songkhla Province

This quasi-experimental research was to examine the effect of self-management program on self-management behavior and asthma controlled level in patient with asthma at Ranode Hospital, Songkhla province. The conceptual model used in this study was Kanfer’s self-management model. Participate in those study was 19 patients with partly or poorly controlled asthma. The results revealed that, the mean score on self-management behavior of asthma patients after receive self-management program at 3 month, 4 month and 5 month were signifcantly higher than before receive self-management program (p < .05). Asthma control level of asthma patients after receive self-management program at 3 month, 4 month and 5 month were signifcantly better than those before receiving self-management program (p < .05). The results of this study indicated that the self- management program could improve the self-management behavior and the asthma controlled achievement. Therefore the self-management program in this study could apply both for nursing practice and for further research.Downloads
