This descriptive study aimed at exploring parenting practice for prevention of adolescent health risk behavior, adolescent risk behavior, and relationship among them. The sample comprised of parents and adolescents aged between 10 – 19 years old; 261 families residing in Phutthamonthon District of NakhonPathom province. The data had been collected by questionnaires. Descriptive statistic and Chi’s square test were used for data analysis. The results revealed that the parenting practice score was in good level ( 4.04, SD = 0.44). For adolescent health risk behaviors, were found that “driving without helmet” was mostly evidence. Particularly, parenting practice related to all adolescent health risk behaviors with statistical significance (p < .05). The health risk behaviors consisted of accident risk behavior, brawl, depression/suicide, smoking, addiction, and sexual risk behavior. Therefore, this finding should be applied as basis for creating an intervention for strengthening parenting ability of families, especially, to enhance effective child protection during adolescence. In terms of the most common adolescent health risk behavior should be campaigned for increasing awareness, with intention of effective parenting in order to preventing adolescent health risk behavior.
