Illness Representation in patients with Hypertension
บทคัดย่อ
Illness Representation in patients helps healthcare personnel understand even more about the disease and can be planned a quality of care. This research is a descriptive qualitative research study aimed at exploring the opinion of patients with hypertension . The 13 participants were selected by purposive sampling. The data were collected between July-December 2013. An in-depth interview and the data were analyzed by content analysis.The results showed hypertension labeled are“rokborepenhyung” (nothing uncommon, no symptom, normal) “poodhor” (headache) “win/woob” (dizziness/flash) and “meay” (tired). The causal representation of hypertension included eating high quantities of a high salt diet and a high fat diet, no exercise, stress, heredity and degeneration of the body occurring as age increases. The representation of the timeline of the illness representation included those without symptoms and “Penlaewborhaiy” (No recovery). The representation of consequences in patients included no effect and have effect as well as work, social, economic, psychological and health effects. The representation of curability and controlability are resting, “prubpruttigum jowkhong” (Those that adjust their own behavior) and “gin ya tam more sung” (Taking the medicine as prescribed).References
