Keywords:
fatigue, caregiver, strokeAbstract
The purpose of this research aimed to study factors effecting on fatigue of strokes’ caregivers. The samples
were 112 strokes’ caregivers at outpatient department of Nakhon Phanom Hospital. Data was collected during
August 2013 to March 2014. Research tools included demographic data record; fatigue questionnaire assessment
was tested for reliability and content validity that equal 0.88, and 0.85. Maudsley Personality Inventory, Suanprung
Stess Test, and Activity Daily Living Index were tested reliability that equal 0.84, 0.89, and 0.97 respectively.
Data analysis used descriptive statistic, chi-square, pearson product moment correlation, and stepwise regression.
The research results revealed that; 1) Fatigue mean score of strokes’ caregiver personnel was 43.92 (S.D. = 9.35).
2) Stress, neuroticism-stability and extraversion-introversion were significantly positive correlation with fatigue
(r = 0.60, p = 0.000; r = 0.55, p = 0.000; and r = 0.46, p = 0.000, respectively). All of variables accounted
for 46.70 of the variance explained in the fatigue of stroke’s caregiver.
