A guideline for organizational health promotion in Chonburi Cancer Hospital

Abstract

The purposes of this qualitative research were to study 1) the roles of personnel in organizational health promotion in Chonburi Cancer Hospital, and 2) Guideline for organizational health promotion of Chonburi Cancer Hospital. Data were collected from executives and personnel who had work experience in Chonburi Cancer Hospital for 3 years or more, using in- depth interviews and focus groups.  Content analysis was used to analyze data and results were presented using descriptive data.

            The research results revealed that; 1. The role of personnel in organizational health promotion in Chonburi Cancer Hospital composed of two important components: the role to oneself, and the role to the organization; and 2) The guideline for organizational health promotion in Chonburi Cancer Hospital can be summarized into 2 aspects: organization management for organizational health promotion, and personnel development for organizational health promotion. Executives were the leaders in policy planning and personnel were important human resources in the promotion of organizational health.
