Effects of innovation “KKU-TB-BOX” on adherence to tuberculosis treatment process*

This quasi-experimental study aimed to study the effects of innovation “KKU-TB-BOX” on adherence to tuberculosis treatment process (appointment and taking medicine). The population were 60 tuberculosis patients. The first thirty patients were randomly assigned into control group received to the usual care and the other thirty patients were randomly assigned into experimental group received to the usual care with innovation “KKU-TB-BOX”. The instrument used in this study were : 1) Demographic data of population characteristics and adherence to tuberculosis treatment record 2) innovation “KKU-TB-BOX”. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, independent t-test, mann-whitney u test and relative risk. Results of the study, pulmonary tuberculosis patients who received to the usual care with innovation “KKU-TB-BOX” had a significant higher appointment than who did not (X2=9.231, p<0.05), pulmonary tuberculosis patients who received to the usual care with innovation “KKU-TB-BOX” had a significant higher taking medicine than who did not (p<0.001).
