Abstract

This descriptive comparative study aimed to compare nutrition knowledge, food beliefs, and food providing behavior between parents of thin and normal pre-school children. Each group comprised of 64 persons. Questionnaires were used to collect data from parents of pre-school children in terms of nutrition knowledge, food beliefs, and food providing behavior. Results indicated that the parents of thin pre-school children had different nutrition knowledge, food beliefs, and food providing behavior from parents of normal pre-school children (z = -4.853, p < .05; z = -4.817,   p < .05;      t = -11.745, p < .05, respectively).
