The ritual of Jolmamuad in Thai-Cambodia border region reflects the spiritual needs of patients, including the meaning of life and illness, love and connectedness, hope, and forgiveness. However, if health care professionsuse this ritual for spiritual healing, the spiritual assessment should cover the meaning of spirituality, and help patients to clarify the system of values and beliefs.
