The purpose of this research was to synthesize the students’ theses of Master of Nursing Science pro-gram in nursing administration, Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University by using meta-analysis. The research synthesis consisted of 71 quantitative studies from 2001 to 2012, which were statistically analyzed. Using the procedure proposed by Rosenthal and Hedges. The results indicated that external factors of organizational environ-ment had higher standardized effect size on dependent variables of nursing performance (i.e., nurse practitioner role, managerial role, quality assurance implementation, nursing and nursing administration practice, and nurse competency) than internal person factors as moderate level (Zr= .49 and .35, respectively), and demographic factors (Zr= .17) as low level. Internal person factors had higher standardized effect size on dependent variables of work efficiency or performance outcomes (i.e., quality of work, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, work happiness, and burn out) than external factors as high and moderate level (Zr= .68 and .40, respectively) and demographic factors (Zr= .17) as low level. The researches of other dependent variables were not synthesized by using meta-analysis because of few studies in this topic.Downloads
