This ethnographic study aimed to study the management systems of the community for care of emergencies; meaning of emergencies, characteristics of emergencies, needs of care of emergencies, characteristics of community care for emergencies, and conditions related to care of emergencies. Data was collected, during January 2010-December 2012, by using of participatory observation, in-depth interview, group discussion. 84 key informants and 137 general informants were recruited. Content analysis was used to analyze data. The results revealed that 1) the meaning of emergencies including the biomedical concept in emergency and situations on life styles, 2) characteristic of emergencies was the harmfulness situations to daily life, 3) need of care of emergencies was identified as the risk group of population, 4) characteristics of community care for emergencies were helping and decreasing of hardiness situations, life support, welfare, and helping network, and 5) conditions related to care of emergencies were data based of the risk population, receiving process on community data, multichannel to communication and strengthening community organizations. emergency, management systems, communityDownloads
