ation of caring on holistic care for chronically ill children in the hospital. The key informants were comprised of 10 chronically Ill children admitted in a hospital, Khon Kaen province, 10 parents/caregivers, and 15 nurses. Data collection was participatory observation and in-depth interview. Data analysis was used frequency and percent. Content analysis was performed for the qualitative information.The results showed that holistic care for chronically ill children in the hospital was the caring behavior which the patients, parents /caregivers, including nurses played the role to provide continuous caring. When the patients showed the abnormal symptoms but not crisis, they can self-care. For example: checking for self-assessment, discomfort management, daily activity caring and mental support. When the patients showed the crisis abnormal symptoms, the caring behavior would be changed to the parents/ caregivers and nurses. The caring from the family was checking/ assessment for symptoms, consult and make decision for the choice of treatment with the health care team, discomfort management, daily activity caring, mental support, as well as taking the patients to the hospital. For the nurses, the caring role was observation and assessment, providing care and man-agement for all abnormal symptoms. Furthermore, daily activity care, mental support and information for caring to the family were needed.
