Abstract

A presentation of this article was to explain and compare with the concepts of health determinants and social determinants of health under global and Thai health system. Both concepts were the major conceptual framework in public health. Firstly, health determinants were divided into three parts (e.g. individual, environment, and health service system). Secondly, social determinants of health were divided into six parts (e.g. poverty, health inequality and inequity, food safety, social exclusion, housing, and job condition). These details of article were collected by national and international journals, books, and reports to analyze about both concepts. From comparative analysis found that both concepts were the different issues (e.g. theoretical theory, logic ofthinking, content, and application). However, health target of both concepts was well-being among Thai and global population. In the future, it should be created the specific health index covered social determinants of health too.
