การดูแลของชุมชนสำหรับคนจนในบริบทสังคมวัฒนธรรมอีสาน Community Care for the Poor in the Socio-cultural Context of the Northeastern Region of Thailand

Abstract

This Ethnography research aimed to explore the situation of problems and synthesize a community care model for the poor in the socio-cultural context of the northeastern region of Thailand. Twenty-five inform-ants included: the poor, civil society, and government officers. Data were collected via participant observation,in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Content analysis was utilized to analyze the data. The study found: 1) problems of debt, feelings of worthlessness, burden of taking care of family members with illness, inequality of rights and opportunities and 2) the poor received care and support including: 1) neighbors and community leaders, 2) social groups, 3) local administrative organizations, and 4) primary care units. Accordingly, nurses and associated organizations should be aware of those who need assistances and help them to access care equally covering every physical, psychological, sociological, and spiritual dimension.
