The effectiveness of a coronary heart disease preventive program for patients with type 2 diabetes at Det Udom District, Ubon Ratchathani Province

The quasi-experimental study was conducted to determine the efectiveness of a coronary heart disease preventive program for patients with type 2 diabetes. The results revealed as follows. 1) After using the program, self-efficacy perception, outcome expectation, and preventive behaviors for CHD of the experimental group were significantly higher than before and the control group (p < .05). 2) After using the program such as body mass index, the fasting blood sugar level, hemoglobin A1C, the blood pressure levels, total lipid profile, triglyceride, and LDL of the experimental group were significantly lower than before using the program and control group (p < .05). Moreover, after using the program, HDL of the experimental group were significantly higher than before using the program and control group (p < .05).
