Factors Predicting Motorcycle Accident Prevention Behavior Among Higher Education Students Chiang Rai Province.

Abstract

          The purpose of this predictive correlational research was to explore predictability three factors consisted of attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control on motorcycle accident prevention behaviors. The samples were 413 higher education students, Chiang Rai province. They were randomly by stratified random sampling method and calculated according to population proportion. The research instrument was the questionnaire constructed by the researcher based on the theory of planned behavior¹. Descriptive statistics and enter multiple regression were utilized in data analysis. The result has shown the subject group’s score of motorcycle accident prevention behavior was at moderate level 62.7%. The factors predicting motorcycle accident prevention behavioral of higher education students can predict 12.1% were perceived behavioral control of motorcycle accident prevention behavior (β = .237, p <.001) and attitudes to behavior of motorcycle accident prevention (β = .174, p = .001).
