The Nursing Management Model in the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation

The nursing management model by applying the 2P2R model in Organization of Surin Hospital. In response to the Thai-Cambodian border conflict situation, the Nursing Organization of Surin Hospital developed a nursing management model based on the 2P2R framework. The objectives of this study were: 1) to develop a nursing management model for the Thai-Cambodian border conflict situation, and 2) to evaluate the outcomes of implementing this model in emergency response.
The results revealed that the implementation of the nursing management model enabled the efficient management of critical (red-code) trauma cases, the acceptance of referred patients from closed border hospitals, and the care of displaced patients in shelters, with no reports of severe safety incidents. Furthermore, nurses reported a very high level of satisfaction with the management model (exceeding 80%). This nursing management model significantly elevated the standard of border crisis nursing, enhanced public confidence, and reinforced Surin Hospital’s role as a Trauma Excellence Center within Health Region 9. This evidence demonstrates that the 2P2R-based nursing management model facilitates a systematic emergency response, ensuring maximum safety for both patients and healthcare personnel.
