Abstract

The objectives of this study were understanding to study the understanding of  opisthorchiosis prevention and control in community, way of life in the Chi  River Basin and consequences of community as a study for finding theoretical conclusion that would lead to the creation of theory form the basic. The Research was a qualitative research. The research instruments were: 1) indepth interview. 2) focus group and group discussion. 3) participate and non participate observation. 4) document. The data were by analyzed using content analysis document, and holding conversation group. The analysis of data was done by interpretation of meaning of data then creating concept based on theoretical sensitivity and finally by using computer program in analyzing data. The research findings as follows.

  1. The prevention and control in community is mainly 3 characterized ; 1) the village consists of a village history, water resources, and transportation. 2) on going prevention and control in community includes a survey of health status, the family genogram chart, and map neighbors of the walk  by volunteers of the village. and 3) Prevention behaviors include persons who had been cured of opisthorchiasis, and reduce habits eating raw fish.

         2. The factors that affect opisthorchiasis prevention and control in community  are related to  basic factors of the village, community leaders, and  working with village health volunteer.  

  1.    Community context condition consists of  the village history, the General village,  social and culture, economics, political,  The condition of intervention consists of  behavior of eating raw fish 
  2. The consequences from the opisthorchiasis prevention and control in community consists of the improving  of behavior awareness lead to  changing consumption behavior of avoid eating raw fish  and decrease opisthorchiasis incidence.
