Factors Related to Sexual Behaviour Among Youth In Loei Province

Abstract

This research is ananalytical research. The purpose of this research is to study Factors relating to Sexual BehaviourAmong Youth that studying in the a different schools. The study was conducted on a sample of 749 youths aged 14-19 years studying within schools under The Secondary Education Service Area Office which both participated and notparticipated in the project of teaching sexuality education process and schools under the Vocational Education Commission. The data were analyzed by a computer program. The statistics used for data analysis were a descriptive statistics, such as frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation and inferential statistics used to test hypotheses as One-way ANOVA and Chi-square test. The study found that the kind of schools (schools under The Secondary Education Service Area Office which both participated and not participated in the project of teaching sexuality education processand schools under the Vocational Education Commission) had a relationship with experience using these types of drugs, beer and wine, experience of sexual intercourse, behavioral addiction(substance abuse and alcohol) on the last sexual intercourse at statistical significance (P <0.01).It was found that students in schools underthe Vocational Education Commission had more experience of sexual intercourse than youths in the schools under The Secondary Education Service Area Office which both participated and not participated in the project of teaching sexuality education process.But the experience of drinking alcohol lower thanschools under The Secondary Education Service Area Office which not participated in the project and students who study in different schools had different Knowledge at statistical significance (P <0.01). It was found that students in schools underthe Secondary Education Service Area Office whichparticipated in the project of teaching and learning sexuality education process had higher average thanstudents in the schools under theVocational Education Commission and schools that not participated in the project and schools that not participated in the project. Therefore, the extension ofthe project of teaching all-around sexuality education to others schoolsinclusively. That may is a good and properly method to go on the project. About activities or knowledge encouragement, theinformation should be entirely focused on abstinence and have safe sex. However, youths who have never sexual intercourse should focus on slow or no sexual intercourse. Those who have sexual intercourse should focus on prevention and access to various method of protection.
