The Effects of Program to Change Behavior for Prevention on family leader ofOpisthorchiasis, TumbonPhang, Kasetwisai District, Roi-Et Province.

Abstract

The purpose of this study the effect of a program to change behavior Prevention on family leader for the conduct underlying the protection of vulnerable groups Opisthorchiasis, TumbonPhang, KasetwisaiDistrict, Roi-Et Province. This research was a quasi-experimental research. The samples were risk, 60 were assigned to experimental and control group, 30 in each group, 12-week trial period. The experimental group received behavioral modification programs include educating, empowerment, group discussions, promote prevention of Opisthorchiasis and social support from volunteers, and officials from pursuing a home visit.  Data were collected using questionnaires before and after the experiment. Data were analyzed by a computer program. The statistics with percentage, mean, standard deviation, Paired  t – test and Independent t – test, Sig level at 0.05

           The results revealed that after the trial, the family leader had an average of knowledge about Opisthorchiasis was increase over the previous experiments with statistically significant (p-value<0.001), the attitude was increase over the previous experiments were statistically significant (p-value <0.001) and behavior to prevent Opisthorchiasis was the average increase over the previous experiments with statistically significant
(p-value <0.001).

           Key of success factors in this research was to gain knowledge of the family leader, empowerment make sure the family leader to comment, share knowledge, discussions and following the continuous encouragement.
As a result, the family leader behavior to prevent Opisthorchiasis better had an excellent track continuous encouragement. As a result, the family leader behavior to prevent Opisthorchiasis better.
