The Performance of Public Health Officers Under Hospital Standards for Quality Tuberculosis Care at Community Hospitals in Health Region 7

This cross sectional descriptive research aimed to study the performance of public health officers under hospital standards for quality tuberculosis care at community hospitals in public health region 7. The population were 144 personnel from TB clinic in public health region 7, 112 personnel selected by simple random sampling and 12 personnel participated in focus group discussion for qualitative data . The instruments was questionare examined and verified by three experts for content validity and tested for reliability with Cronbach, alpha coefficient 0.97. Data were collected between April 10th, 2017 and May 10th, 2017. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and Inferential statistics by Pearson, product moment correlation and multiple linear regressions. The level of statistical significant was set at 0.05.
The results showed that administrative and performance factors level of public health officers under hospital standards for quality tuberculosis care at community hospitals in public health region 7 were found at high level with averages of 3.84 (S.D. = 0.58) , 4.20 (S.D. = 0.43) respectively. The administrative factors were statistical significantly correlated with the performance of public health officers under hospital standards for quality tuberculosis care at community hospital in health region 7 (r = 0.593, p-value < 0.001). The factors were time, Man and Material. These three factors could together predict performance of public health officers under hospital standards for quality tuberculosis care at community hospitals in health region 7 by 41.9 % (R2 = 0.419, p-value < 0.001 ).
The Activities should be prioritized and monitoring in timeframe. The personnel should be properly allocated associated with mission of TB Control Program. Sufficient and proper logistics support are important in work process. These factor effect to the achievement of Quality Tuberculosis Care at Community Hospitals in Health Region 7.
