Outbreak Investigation of Coronavirus Disease 2019 Cases (COVID-19) from Contact in the same family, Mae Sot District, Tak Province,

Abstract

 Department of prevention and control of communicable diseases and border public health, Mae Sot Hospital was notified by riveted Hospital. That there was found a COVID – 19 case An outbreak investigation aims to confirm the diagnosis, to distribution, finding risk factors including determining measures to control and prevent disease outbreaks. Descriptive study was conducted using novel corona 2 questionnaires to interviewing patients. Data was collected during April – May 2021 .The results of the investigation revealed that the patient was 20 years old Thai female, with a history of traveling from Chiang Mai before the Songkran festival, was infected with asymptomatic patient. There were 4 high-risk exposures, namely father, mother, older sister, and sister's boyfriend. It was found that case of her boyfriend's sister was Confirmed case: asymptomatic COVID-19. Case of older sister and Mather was Symptoms fever cough sputum and diarrhea. COVID-19 without pneumonia and no risk factors for severe disease.  Case of her father was Symptomatic COVID-19 with mild pneumonia and Hypoxia. There were no deaths in this outbreak. The risk factor for transmission of the disease came from an entertainment area in Chiang Mai province. During that time, with a large number of people visiting that place. Not wearing masks. No distance measure It is a crowded place, the air system is closed and there is no ventilation system.  Recommended to persons who returned from outbreak areas that isolation and report to public health officials and screening for infection after quarantine.
