The experimental group showed significantly better results in both average blood sugar level and the average scores of self-management behavior compared to the control group (p<0.001). From this study, it was found that telemedicine program can be used to promote appropriate self-management behavior changes in diabetic patients, leading to a reduction in HbA1C level. Long-term follow-up and evaluations across other dimensions are recommended to further enhance the care system
supasek ngoenthong Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 1 15 Mass Casualty Accident Investigation : A Case of The School Van Crashed into an Electric Pole in Muang Uttaradit District, Uttaradit Province February 5, 2025 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/279485
On February 5, 2025, the SAT team of Disease Control Office 2 received a report of a school van accident that crashed into an electric pole on the Sirikit Dam-Uttaradit route, Moo 5, Ngiw-Ngam Sub-district, Mueang District, Uttaradit Province. The JIT team from Disease Control Office 2, together with the Uttaradit Road Accident Investigation Team, conducted an investigation on February 6, 2025, to determine the cause and prevention measures. The investigation involved collecting medical data, surveying the location and vehicle, interviewing victims and rescuers, and analyzing injury factors using Haddon's Matrix Model.

The investigation revealed a problem with the front wheel on the driver's side, causing collision with a roadside electric pole. There were 23 victims and injuries, aged between 7-18 years, with no fatalities. Most suffered injuries to the head, neck, chest, arms, and legs. Contributing factors included: the 18-year-old driver with less than 2 years of driving experience, no driving license, and inability to control the vehicle. The vehicle was old, modified with additional passenger seats, and had tires manufactured more than 4 years ago, affecting vehicle control. Numerous severe injuries occurred due to the rear being heavier than the front. When front wheels and tires had problems, the front wheels locked and slid on the road surface, making steering control impossible.

For future prevention, the provincial transport office and educational institutions should control and supervise school bus inspections regarding driver safety, vehicle standards for carrying many children, and ensure operators comply with school bus safety standards.
sirirat tunsawai Benjawan Wongrod Tipwanee ketkrut Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 16 33 The Effects of Belief Modification Low-Sodium Consumption in High Risk of Hypertension at The Ban Wang Madan Sub-district Health Promotion Hospital, Phrom Phiram District, Phitsanulok Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/281486
This research is quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest study aimed to examine
the effects of a belief modification program on low-sodium diet consumption in the hypertension risk group. The sample consisted of 34 registered at-risk individuals from Ban Wang Madan Sub-district Health Promotion Hospital, Phrom Phiram District, Phitsanulok Province, fiscal year 2023, selected by purposive sampling. Research tools included a belief modification program on low-sodium diet consumption, blood pressure monitors, knowledge assessments, and questionnaires on attitudes, health beliefs, and sodium consumption behaviors. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired samples t-test.

Results showed significant increases in participants' beliefs and behaviors related to reduced sodium intake after the program. The study recommends primary healthcare agencies implement this program to help at-risk groups control blood pressure within normal limits, thereby reducing hypertension incidence.
Sunee Kullanapuk Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 32 46 Development of Screening and Diagnosis Model of Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Lampang Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/281947
Over the past 3 years, Lampang Province has had tuberculosis incidence rates and treatment coverage rates lower than the targets set by the Ministry of Public Health. Additionally, most cases rely on sputum examination using the acid-fast bacilli (AFB) staining method, which has limitations in terms of sensitivity, ranging from 30% to 70%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop more effective screening and diagnostic approaches. This research aimed to develop a screening and diagnosis model for pulmonary tuberculosis in Lampang Province and evaluate implementation outcomes. The study employed a research and development approach, utilizing the PAOR cycle, which was conducted in three phases. The sample consisted of 24 healthcare personnel from 12 community hospitals and data from at-risk patients who underwent screening processes before and after implementing the new model. Results showed that the developed model emphasized systematic use of the LAMP technique combined with AFB. AFB testing after implementing the new model had significantly fewer positive patients (p = .011), while healthcare personnel expressed high satisfaction with the new model (x̄ = 4.17). The developed pulmonary tuberculosis screening and diagnosis model can be practically implemented and has received high satisfaction from healthcare personnel; however, continuous monitoring should be conducted to evaluate long-term effectiveness.
Chanchanok Kittichantharophat, Theerarat Boonkuna Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 49 63 Factors Associated with Fall Prevention Behaviors among the Elderly in Rong Kwang District, Phrae Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/281948
This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate factors associated with fall prevention behaviors among older adults in Rong Kwang District, Phrae Province. A total of 525 participants were selected using multistage random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square tests, and Spearman's rank correlation. Results showed that most participants were female (72.8%), with a mean age of 69.5 years (SD = 6.5). Approximately 27.0% had experienced falls, predominantly occurring outside the home (79.6%). Overall, fall prevention behaviors were at a high level (M = 43.37, SD = 9.96). Five factors were significantly associated with fall prevention behaviors: predisposing factors—occupation (p = 0.038), income sufficiency (p = 0.002), and alcohol consumption (p = 0.018); enabling factor—fall risk (p = 0.022, r = –0.100); and reinforcing factor—social support (p < 0.001, r = 0.640).Falls represent a major health concern affecting the well-being and quality of life of older adults. Effective prevention should encompass policy development, public campaigns, environmental modifications, and enhanced social support. Therefore, it is essential to identify factors associated with fall prevention behaviors to guide appropriate interventions.
kiatisak thippayagamolpan Taweewan Srisookkhum Orathai Katkhaw Somkid Juwa Sunanta Wongrattanakamon Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 64 79 The Effectiveness of a Screening Application for Diabetes, Hypertension, and Depression Based on the PBRI Model in Primary Care Settings https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/282717
This quasi-experimental research aims to assess the effectiveness and satisfaction of using an application for screening diabetes, hypertension, and depression, as well as evaluating the health status of the sample group, including Body Mass Index (BMI), blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and depression. The sample consisted of 60 volunteers from public health volunteers and community health center staff in Phitsanulok Municipality. The application was tested once, and data were collected using a three-part questionnaire: personal information, effectiveness, and user satisfaction.

The results showed that the application demonstrated high effectiveness in screening, usability, and overall benefit, with the highest average score for usefulness (M=4.80, S.D.=0.41) among the staff (M=4.73, S.D.=0.48) and for screening ability (M=4.79, S.D.=0.51) among the volunteers (M=4.73, S.D.=0.51). Both groups showed a high level of overall satisfaction. Health screening results indicated that most samples had normal BMI values and screening results for various diseases. This indicates that the application is effective, suitable for use, and can be a useful tool for proactive health screening among public health volunteers and staff. It is also suitable for expansion to other areas.
PANARAT CHENCHOB Nutpimol Kosai Kanyanat Hantula Chonthicha Phuphasi Narapat Khanchai Phimphisa Aunsin Wachirawit Onmadee Wathinee Asucheewa Khwankhaw Baosakun Thanyarat Gaewisaet Phloychompu Phimthong Praewa Kanna Warakon Pangkonsan Sarunya Sungkatedee Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 80 95 Development of Promoting Self-Care Behaviors Model for Nutrition Health among Pregnant Women with Iron Deficiency Anemia at Uttaradit Province. https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/283444
The purpose of this research were to 1) Study the relationship between health knowledge and perception and the food and drug consumption behavior of pregnant women with anemia. 2) Develop a model to promote self-care behavior in food consumption, and 3) Evaluate the model of promoting self-care behavior in food consumption. Samples that were used in the 3 Phases studied included phase 1 : 136 Pregnant women. Phase 2 : 20 Health Workers. Phase 3 30 Pregnant women. Research by purposive sampling using tools included knowledge questionnaires, perception and medication consumption behavior of pregnant women with anemia and a model to promote self-care behaviors in food consumption. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and Paired Sample t-test were used to analyze data. The results showed that 60.2% of pregnant women had a moderate level of knowledge . Their perception of the benefits was at a very good level (58.8%), and their self-care behavior was at a good level (75.7%). Factors related to self-care behavior in food consumption included the perception of the benefits of anemia prevention (r = .213). and were able to predict self-care behavior regarding food consumption by 5.2%. After the implementation of the model, the mean scores of knowledge, food consumption behavior and hematocrit values among pregnant women increased significantly at .05. Therefore, this model of promoting self-care behaviors in food consumption can increased hematocrit values of pregnant women with anemia. Moreover, it can be adopted and applied to pregnant women at risk of other pregnancies.
PRAKARN KHEMKHAENG Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Disease Prevention and Control : DPC. 2 Phitsanulok https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-11-25 2025-11-25 12 3 96 110 Policy Recommendations for Managing Latent Tuberculosis Infection Detection Among Contacts Using the Interferon-γ Release Assay (IGRA) and Treatment in the Lower Northern Region of Thailand https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpcphs/article/view/111-127
The objective of this study was to develop policy proposals through mixed methods research. Phase 1 included document research, policy analysis of strengths and opportunities, global fund budget, Laboratory unit, networks, weaknesses and threats, insufficient policy communication, and budget reduction. Phase 2 included quantitative research. 43,457 cases were exposed to CXR, 40,181 (92.5%) had normal CXR results, 6,056 (15.1%) normal CXRs received IGRA testing, 1,214 (20.0%) had IGRAs positive, and 1,119 (92.2%) had IGRAs positive and received treatment. 83.6% completed treatment, 4.6% stopped medication due to side effects, and 71.0% used the 3HP formula. Logistic regression analysis revealed that (1) those treated at community hospitals (OR = 2.823) had a higher chance of completing treatment than at regional hospitals. 2.8 times and (2) those who received the 3HP formula were 4.1 times more likely to complete the treatment than those who received the 6-9 H formula (OR=4.132). Phase 3, qualitative research, key informants, 6 groups of policy proposals, set as indicators by the Ministry of Public Health and government inspection, Monitoring and evaluation, and continuous development by the Service plan TB Committee. IGRA testing should be included in the National Health Security benefits package. Every province has a Laboratory unit and medication (Point of care). Start treatment 2-4 weeks early. NTIP adds the variable of drug side effects. Budget from the networks, allocate funds for testing Thai and non-Thai disenfranchised people, and have an action plan strategy. The IGRA test is a method that most service providers and service recipients are confident in. It should be continuously supported.
