Factors Affecting the Happiness and Engagement of Personnel Office of Disease Prevention and Control Region 2 Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

The purpose of this study is determining the factors affecting the happiness and engagement of 342 person in the Office of Disease Prevention and Control Region 2 Phitsanulok Province using happinometer for data collection. To analyze the collected data, the descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage was use.

Overall, the results showed that the happiness of all personnel was considered as the happy level (µ = 64.23). All dimensions revealed that there were at happy level, except happy money as the unhappy level. The level of engagement of all factors was classified as “happy” (µ = 68.08).

Statistical analysis showed that education affected health significantly (p = 0.01). Additionally, factors that influence the commitment to the organization were gender, living in the same province, domicile, education, employment status. Period of employment in the current organization, the number of times the resign and job rotation affected the engagement of personnel at the Office of Disease Prevention and Control 2, Phitsanulok Province significantly (p = 0.01). Therefore, to maintain the level of happiness and engagement is necessary. Executive is required to listen to opinions, complaints and suggestions of personnel. Compensation, appropriate salary and welfare payment may enhance a good quality of life and a good office environment. Personnel would be happy and work willingly. Consequently, it could drive organization toward accomplishment of goals.
