ผลของโปรแกรมการสื่อสารต่อทักษะการสื่อสารและสัมพันธภาพระหว่างผู้ดูแลและผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองเสื่อม

การสื่อสารในครอบครัวที่ดีระหว่างผู้ดูแลกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองเสื่อมมีความสำคัญยิ่งในการดูแลผู้ป่วยสมองเสื่อมอย่างมีคุณภาพ การศึกษาวิจัยกึ่งทดลองชนิดสองกลุ่มวัดผลก่อนและหลังการทดลองนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการสื่อสารต่อทักษะการสื่อสารและสัมพันธภาพระหว่างผู้ดูแลและผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองเสื่อม กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้ดูแลผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองเสื่อมจำนวน 52 คน แบ่งเป็น กลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มทดลองกลุ่มละ 26 คน คัดเลือกโดยการสุ่มอย่างง่าย เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการทดลอง คือ โปรแกรมการสื่อสาร ประกอบด้วย 1) อบรมให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับภาวะสมองเสื่อมและเทคนิคการสื่อสาร และ 2) การติดตามเยี่ยมบ้านและให้คำปรึกษา เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบวัดทักษะการสื่อสารและแบบวัดสัมพันธภาพ มีค่าความเชื่อมั่นจากค่าสัมประสิทธิ์อัลฟ่าของครอนบราค เท่ากับ .90 และ .91 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างของค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะการสื่อสาร และสัมพันธภาพระหว่างกลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มทดลองด้วยสถิติการทดสอบทีที่ไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกันสำหรับการเปรียบเทียบก่อน-หลังในกลุ่มเดียวกัน และการทดสอบทีที่เป็นอิสระต่อกันสำหรับการเปรียบเทียบระหว่างกลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มทดลอง ผลการวิจัย พบว่า หลังการทดลองผู้ดูแลในกลุ่มทดลองมีคะแนนทักษะการสื่อสารและสัมพันธภาพสูงกว่าก่อนทดลองและสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.01) ดังนั้นการส่งเสริมให้ผู้ดูแลมีทักษะการสื่อสารกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองเสื่อม จะช่วยสร้างสัมพันธภาพที่ดีในครอบครัวผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองเสื่อมได้
