Factors Related to Prevention and Control Behavior of Dengue Fever Among Village Health Volunteers in Ao Luek District, Krabi Province

This descriptive research aimed to examine the relationship between health belief model factors, social support, and self-care behaviors in the prevention and control of dengue fever among village health volunteers in Ao Luek District, Krabi Province. The sample consisted of 268 village health volunteers in Ao Luek District, Krabi Province selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.95. The data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient, with a significance level set at .01.
The study found that the majority of the sample group scored at a high level on the Health Belief Model (M = 4.11), the Social Support (M = 4.29), and dengue prevention and control behaviors among village health volunteers (M = 4.21). Furthermore, both the Health Belief Model and the Social Support were found to be positively correlated with dengue prevention and control behaviors among village health volunteers in Ao Luek District, Krabi Province, at a very high level, with statistical significance (r = .744**, P < .01).
Therefore, continuous promotion of dengue prevention and control measures should be encouraged to build confidence and proper practices among village health volunteers.
