Abstract

The purposes of this research were: (1) to investigate behavior stroke prevention in hypertension patients and (2) to determine factor affecting stroke prevention behavior in hypertension patients Ban Krokkheenoo subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital Chumhed Subdistrict Muang District Buriram Province. This research was predictive study. The sample consisted of 288 people of hypertension patients they were selected by multi-stage sampling. The research tool was a questionnaire which consisted of four sections: (1) Personal data, (2) the stroke knowledge, (3) the perceived, and (4) the stroke prevention behavior in hypertension patients. Data collected by questionnaires. Research data were analyzed by both descriptive statistic (percentage, mean and standard deviation) and multiple regression analysis. The results of this research showed that: (1) The level of behavior stroke prevention in hypertension patients at the high level (M=4.09, SD=0.16). (2) Perceived Barriers (β=0.293, p < .05), Perceived Benefits (β=0.203, p < .05), and Marital status (β=0.119, p < .05) could predict the stroke prevention behavior in hypertension patients which accounted for 13.2% of variance at .05. furthermore showed that have risk factor assessment for stroke in hypertension patients for promotion and health behavior modification continue have a good quality of life.
