Predicting Factors of Quality of Life Among Older People with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Dwelling in Bangkok Metropolitan Area

This correlational predictive research aimed to study the predictive power of health perception, access to health services, and family support over quality of life among older people with type 2 diabetes mellitus who lived in the Bangkok area. The sample included older people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, where 244 participants were selected using simple random sampling.
The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistic, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of multiple regression analysis revealed that health perception, access to health services, and family support were able to co-predict quality of life among older people with type 2 diabetes mellitus living in the Bangkok area at 20.7% (R2 = .207, p<.001).
