This research is a descriptive correlational study aimed at investigating COVID-19 prevention practices among professional nurses at a tertiary hospital. The sample was purposively selected, comprising 192 nurses who were responsible for caring for COVID-19 patients in a tertiary hospital. The research instruments included a personal information questionnaire, a knowledge assessment, an attitude survey, a questionnaire on perceptions of the environment, a questionnaire on perceptions of organizational support, and a questionnaire on COVID-19 prevention practices among nurses. The questionnaires were validated by experts, achieving a content validity index of 1.00, and reliability was tested with coefficients of .71, .80, .93, .88, and .86, respectively. The researcher distributed and collected the questionnaires and knowledge assessments in person, receiving all 192 questionnaires, representing a 100% response rate. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentage, median, range, and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The findings revealed that knowledge and attitude had a low positive correlation with COVID-19 prevention practices among nurses, with statistical significance (r = .157, p = .030, and r = .202, p = .005, respectively). In contrast, the environment and organizational support positively correlated with COVID-19 prevention practices, with statistical significance (r = .399, p < .001, and r = .334, p < .001). It is recommended that knowledge, attitudes, environmental factors, and organizational support for nurses be promoted to enhance COVID-19 prevention and preparedness for emerging diseases in tertiary hospital nurses.
