Abstract

Resistant hypertension is a type of hypertension disease that is a major cause of cardiovascular disease, resulting in morbidity and mortality worldwide. Resistant hypertension significantly increases the risk of coronary artery disease, heart failure, stroke, and chronic kidney disease. These patients are resistant to antihypertensive medications, making it difficult to control their blood pressure. This can lead to more complications, disabilities, and increased healthcare costs. Renal denervation through catheterization is considered as an effective treatment for drug resistant hypertension. However, post-procedural complications necessitate close monitoring by specialized nurses. In addition to ensuring patient safety, nurses play a crucial role in educating patients on self-care practices, empowering them to achieve sustainable blood pressure control and ultimately improve long-term outcomes. Therefore, equipping nurses with the necessary knowledge and skills is imperative to providing safe and effective care, minimizing complications, and ultimately reducing mortality risk.
