Tool Development for Delegation for Frist-line Nurse Managers in Community Hospitals

Abstract

The purposes of this research were developed Delegation of authority tool of Frist-line Nurse Managers in Community hospitals with confirm factor analysis. The samples have 387 First-line Nurse Managers in Community hospitals and chosen by Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. depend on 12 health service networks. The Delegation of Authority questionnaire used five rating scale and got 0.80 content validity index and 0.85 reliability by used Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The statistics used descriptive statistics and Second Order CFA to analyzed data
The major findings were as found the measurement model fit with empirical data. (χ2 = 73.45,
df = 58, p = 0.083, CMIN/DF= 1.73 , CFI = 1.00 , GFI = 0.97, AGFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.026) There were 3 factors
and 14 indicators with factor loading that met the criteria (λ = .49-.86) Delegation of authority for developing
competency (5 indicators), Delegate tasks not central to the manager’s role (4 indicators), and Delegate tasks
that can be done better by a subordinate (5 indicators)
