Abstract

This article aims to study the role of nursing administrators in managing the care of COVID-19 patients who are isolated at home. Nursing management in the care of COVID-19 patients who have been isolated at home is a new form of nursing in the emergence of the coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic in which the number of infected people continues to rise increasingly and the number of beds in healthcare facilities is insufficient to meet demand. Therefore, it is a challenge in nursing management. Nursing administrators must play an important role in managing the care of COVID-19 patients who are isolated at home, including 1) establishing a special care team 2) allocating nursing manpower 3) coordinating with community organizations to adjust living spaces 4) communicating between the organization and personnel at all levels, according to the situation 5) risk and safety management 6) lessons learned 7) developing a body of knowledge in nursing practice for disease control and prevention 8) evaluating the outcomes of self-quarantine services to improve nursing quality, and 9) clarifying guidelines for disbursement of care for COVID-19 patients as prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health.
