Abstract

The studies are descriptive study and cross-sectional survey research for study in factors affected to health behavior of elderly and to study the fundamentals beliefs in health, ability to carry out daily life that affect eating behaviors, exercise, to behave in a state of illness, preventing and avoiding risky behaviors of elderly in Ban Yang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Buriram Province. Methods: A cross-sectional survey study was conducted in 180 samples. Data was analyzed by Chi-Square, ANOVA,Scheffe’s method.

Results: Overall health behavior of the elderly was at moderate level while diet and self-care management were at high level. Exercise and behavioral risk avoiding were at low and moderate level respectively. There was a statistically significant relationship between health behavior with demographic factor and health believe. There was no significant relationship between health behavior and daily living capabilities. Health believe of the elderly was at high level. Daily living capabilities in two different groups (dependent and non-dependent) had same average score in all four health behavioral dimensions.
