Effective of Akha Guide Program on Level of knowledge for Hypertension Prevention, Attitude to Hypertension Disease and Hypertension Prevention Behavior in the Pre-hypertension Akha Population

Abstract

The purpose of this pretest-posttest quasi-experimental research design was to examine the level of knowledge for hypertension prevention, attitude to hypertension disease and hypertension prevention behavior in the pre-hypertension Akha population. The samples were 30 pre-hypertension Akha population that were selected by targeted sampling method. The samples received 12 weeks of Akha guide program based on health promotion theory. The instruments for data collection were general questionnaires, hypertension knowledge questionnaires, attitude to hypertension disease questionnaires and hypertension prevention behaviors questionnaires. The data analysis used descriptive statistic and t-test.

The results indicated that samples had better posttest score of hypertension knowledge, attitude to hypertension disease and hypertension prevention behavior more than pretest. (p < 0.05)
